Sleeping with someone who was also infected might not be one hundred percent safe because they could contract a strain that is a lot worse than the one they already have. Also this is a really common virus, and affects people in different ways. It’s not clear from the OP’s post if she has mild, infrequent symptoms or if this is something that affects her life to a greater extent. If her symptoms are mild and do not happen that often, I would mention that in her discussions with people she is dating. A lot of people hear herpes and assume she has inflamed sores all the time, which might not be true.
